Henderson Community Park

Henderson Community Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Hoof up a small ridge in this pocket park that protects rare oak habitat and is packed with excellent views of Salt Spring and Pender islands. Watch for raptors and ravens riding thermals, and learn about the species at risk that live in this threatened coastal Douglas fir--Garry oak ecosystem.

Wedged between subdivisions and occupying recovering cutover lands, this 25-acre park is easy to overlook. However, the Mayne Island Conservancy Society has developed a trail network within the park, complete with a glossy interpretive pamphlet. Plus, there’s an adjacent trail to Navy Channel allowing for an extended outing."
