Free hot soaks on the property of Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. Swimwear advisable. Visitors venturing up this hill will find an old stone building with three small, doorless rooms. Within each room is a concrete bathtub. Pipes fill the tubs from nearby springs at a variety of temperatures. Just outside sits a giant travertine mound. Hot water emerges at the top, and steamy rivulets run down the sides, gradually building the mound ever higher as the water evaporates and leaves mineral deposits behind. Up on top is a wooden tub that runs around 105 degrees F/40.5 degrees C. This toasty little treat offers a fine view of the fancy resort spread out below. Indian Tubs is part of Fairmont Resort but is open to the public free of charge.
