If you are fortunate, you will hit the brief mid-June flowering of rhododendrons on this trail. Even without that bonus, the trip from Silver Skagit Road at its 26 Mile Bridge, following the route of the historic Whatcom Trail upstream, to Highway 3 at the western end of Manning Provincial Park is a rewarding one, as is the corresponding downstream hike. For complete success, however, it does require a two-car shuttle. Otherwise you must cut your trip short, unless you are prepared for a 29 km (18 mi) march there and back.
