Hidden among the forests north of Harrison Mills, Weaver Lake offers the visitor a backcountry experience, whether boating, hiking the trail encircling the lake, or simply enjoying the outdoors in the primitive Forest Service campgrounds. Hikers in spring should be prepared to cope with fallen trees across the trail (and extra large potholes in the approach road) but will see the forest floor clothed in emerald moss and starred with trilliums. October visitors have the bonus of seeing the salmon run at the Weaver Creek spawning channels on the way.
