"Walk a pleasant old woods road to a freshwater lake graced with lily pads and surrounded by ledges. Then steeply drop to Shingle Bay to the site of a once thriving fish-packing plant, now quiet coastline within the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve (GINPR). Roe Lake sits in the center of a large wooded tract acquired in 2003 by Parks Canada for the establishment of the GINPR.
