A steep trail to Mt. Hunter’s two fire lookouts. Mt. Hunter is one of the first high-elevation trails of the season to open in Yoho. While the lower lookout is often open toward the end of May, the upper lookout is usually not clear of snow until mid-June. Although this hike is quite steep in places, the effort spent is well worth it for the breathtaking 240-degree views the upper lookout affords. However, we would be remiss if we didn’t advise you to be sure the sky is clear; otherwise, you may be disappointed by limited visibility.
