Adjacent to the towns f Golden and neighboring Nicholsen is a wonderful network of mountain bike trails. The Moonraker Trail System includes many singletrack and doubletrack rides that can be linked together in an endless collection of loops and point-to-points. Tow of the longest rides, Cedar Snag and North Star, run all the way from Cedar Lake near Golden to end on the Canyon Creek Canyon trail at Nicholsen. The bulk of the network lies toward the south, also adjacent to Nicholsen. Access for this southern section of the trail system is at the sander Lake Campground. From this marshy pond, you can jump right into the main part of the network. The trail is mostly in the trees, with periodic views f the surrounding peaks of the Purcell Range to the west.
