This short but incredibly steep climb passes Hamilton Falls and offers superb views of Mount Vaux and Mount Goodsir. You may feel a bit like a mountain goat on this seemingly never-ending climb—one of the most strenuous in Yoho National Park. But you’ll be well rewarded for your efforts. For your hiking enjoyment, don’t venture onto this trail too early in the season. Wait until mid-July at the earliest, or you may find yourself plowing through thigh-deep snow like we did. We hiked this trail in mid-June— only to arrive at a frozen lake blanketed with more than a meter of heavy snow. Keep in mind that you’ll be gaining some impressive elevation, so this trail will take considerably more time than most other 12-kilometer trails.

This is a very nic trail indeed. We climbed it in late July and had beautiful weather. The climb is very strenous and does not seem to end. I took us about 3 hours to get up there, with a 5 year old child, but after we made it we were rewarded with one of most beautiful alpine sceneries ever. A must do if you are in the area.
