This short trail skirts Linda Lake and Cathedral Lakes and ends with panoramic views of Cathedral Basin, Monica Lake, and area mountain peaks. It may take you a full day to trek from Lake O’Hara to Cathedral Basin and back, but the solitude you’ll gain as you venture farther away from the more popular hikes near the lake makes it all worthwhile. We didn’t see any other hikers on this trail—even in mid-July—and the views from the end of the trail are absolutely spectacular.
