This short walk through the forest will take you to the base of Bear Falls. This short, steep walk through a forest of hemlock and Douglas fir is quite rewarding. You’ll see plenty of wildflowers along the way, including dwarf dogwood, one-leafed foamflower, white clover, pearly everlasting, queen’s cup, and oxeye daily in abundance. Toward the end of the trail you’ll reach a wooden footbridge that crosses Connaught Creek, an excellent viewpoint for the waterfall, which is really quite spectacular. Continue along the straight trail heading up the stairs to the base of the falls. Here you’ll inevitably be sprayed, but you will spot a few dancing arnicas.
