As you approach Langdale by B.C. Ferries, you may notice a neat conical hill a little to the left. Known locally as “The Knob,” Soames Hill is now in a regional park so that its approaches receive at least minimal attention, as do the steep flights of steps to its various splendid viewpoints. The park, however, embraces more than the hill, and you may enjoy a forest walk instead of, or in addition to, your ascent of the knob.
