Moderate climb over a high pass on good trail. Although most of the segment is below timberline, there are still plenty of views to admire and enjoyable riverside walking. The route is straightforward and easy to navigate, which makes it suitable for novice hikers. The highlights are Helmet Falls and Goodsir Pass. The last 8 km of the segment, Highway 1, is really for thru-hikers going on to the next section.
