Five connecting trails provide a variety of opportunities to explore Maple Mountain’s rocky bluffs, dense forests, and stunning viewpoints. The Blue, Pink, Yellow, and Orange Trails offer spectacular views of Salt Spring, Thetis, and Kuper Islands, along with Sansum Narrows. Watch for clusters of Garry oaks and rocky bluffs spotted with moss and wildflowers (in season). The Maple Mountain trails are located in a municipal forest reserve managed by the District of North Cowichan. The forest reserve is a working community forest that provides revenues for the municipality from its land base, as well as recreation and forestry education opportunities. These lands have been in the municipal forest reserve since 1946.
