The logging road up Ensign Creek provides access to Amiskwi Pass on the boundary of Yoho National Park. This is a gravel road that can be driven by most cars so be on the lookout for traffic. The grades are moderately steep and sustained as the road climbs through cutblocks and forests of Engelmann spruce. The views are superlative and they get better the higher you climb until the valley below finally resembles a deep canyon.
