This trail is located in the city of Coquitlam. The Old Poco Trail offers a quiet roll along a meandering stream to a pleasant waterfall, all hidden from the invasion of development right at its doorstep. You can ride a straight 15.4 km (9.25 miles) point-to-point ride, or turn around and make it an out-and-back, maximizing the distance, but the length of the ride can be varied by using any of several public road access points. As you ride, take the time to enjoy the gurgle of the stream, the chance to see salmon spawning in quiet tributaries, and the sounds of birds. It's sometimes difficult to believe that civilization is just past a thin canopy of cottonwood. For Coquitlam locals, this ride is an oasis, offering an escape from the pressures of everyday life. On hot summer days, the almost constant shade allows a welcome relief from the beating sun.
