Minnekhada Professional Review and Guide
"Now one of the most delightful of our regional parks, the 219 ha (548 acres) of marsh, forest and farmland at the foot of Burke Mountain were once a private hunting preserve, created and used by two former lieutenant governors of British Columbia. The rustic hunting lodge, built in 1934 is open on certain Sunday afternoons from February to December and can be booked for private occasions.
The buildings of Minnekhada Farm, added to the park in 1995 are being restored and will eventually be made accessible to the public. Highlights: Freshwater marsh, forest, rocky knolls; Minnekhada Lodge; waterfowl, raptors, songbirds; bullfrogs. Terrain: Short walk is mainly flat with minor ups and downs, on forest trail and dyke. Complete circuit includes some climbing and rougher sections."
