Vedder Mountain is the southern border of the Fraser Valley between Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Its west end runs across the International Boundary, and to gain the valley of Cultus Lake you must cross the Chilliwack/Vedder River and switchback around Vedder Mountain’s east end. There are a series of viewpoints as you traverse the ridge from east to west. Although none of them are panoramic, you get some views to the north, then some to the south. The final top requires a drop into a dark hollow before the last scramble to the summit, which offers views across Cultus Lake and Columbia Valley to International Ridge and Mount Amadis.
