Elk Mountain Professional Review and Guide
"Try to visit these subalpine ridge meadows during July or August. As well as slopes of valerian, lupine, Indian paintbrush and Columbia lilies, the shaly ridge is carpeted with small plants such as dwarf phlox, stonecrop and penstemon. Wild strawberries growing beside the trail are a delightful bonus. The ridge offers a panorama that includes Mount Baker and the Border Peaks, the Chilliwack River, Liumchen Ridge and the Fraser River valley. Carry plenty of water if the weather is hot, take your wildflower book, and allow time to wander on the ridge."
--Jean Cousins, Easy Hiking Around Vancouver (Greystone Books).
After a nice walk in the forest this hike becomes very steep for the last half. The view is worth it!
