This hike takes you into a pleasant high-country area east of the Coquihalla Highway. It is north of the toll booth, so to get your money’s worth you might want to do another hike in this area. There is an alpine route north from Mount Henning to Thynne Mountain although the traverse is not described in this guide. It may also serve as a prelude to other hikes in the Merritt, Kamloops or Okanagan areas. The hike as described here makes a loop up one old track to alpine country, then down another mining road to your starting point.
