It is a short and pleasant walk to the falls through aspen and birch forest carpeted in salmonberry. The trail is well-maintained, but suffers from blowdowns, which tend to clutter the path in places until the ranger and his saw can get to them. The best time to hike is the autumn when the aspen are a sea of yellow. The falls itself is a glorious 40 m plunge down a narrow gorge. The trail left snakes alongside the safety fence and up to the rim, providing superb views of the cascade. On the right is a steep climb down into the gorge where Deception Creek rushes away toward Mahood Lake.
