Rainbow Falls Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This well-maintained trail is a popular stroll for visitors who take the boat tour to the head of Waterton Lake; passports are now required to cross the international boundary. The hike begins on the Waterton Lake Trail, which runs westward from Goat Haunt Ranger Station. Barren summits of sedimentary rock flank both sides of Waterton Lake. As the trail nears the Waterton River, bear left on the hiker trail, then turn left at a marked junction with the Rainbow Falls spur trail. This path wanders up the east bank of the river, which is bordered by dense thickets of willow, a favorite winter forage of moose."
