Standing on a high grassy ridge below Junction Mountain, Junction Lookout is a big attraction, though not quite as popular as Moose Mountain on account of the longer approach. The north half of the route is fire road, boring for the most part; the other half is very pleasant trail despite umpteen creek crossings. Combine with other trails like Phone Line and Green Mountain to make a terrific weekend backpack.
