This is the main thoroughfare from which all other trails branch off. The forest trail is more interesting than you might think, particularly where it nears the river and crosses lively tributaries with many rapids and waterfalls to delight in, including the greatest swim hole this side of the Pacific Ocean. Bikeable to the sawmill site.
