Aster Lake and the high glacial valleys under Mt. Joffre are not easy to get into. If you're hoping for an easy park with lots of zigs up the woody slopes of Aster Creek's west bank, you're out of luck. This trail takes a thrilling line up the east bank, crossing scree slopes poised above cliffs that aren't for anyone whose legs turn to jelly in such places.
