Pinto Lake Loop Professional Review and Guide
"A scramble up and over boulders takes you to a large cave partway around Pinto Lake on what is otherwise an easy walk. A visit to the Trees of Renown, witnesses to a dramatic rescue in 1924, nearly completes your circuit of lovely Pinto Lake. From the trailhead find the footpath that leads counter-clockwise around the lake. For the most part the trail stays very close to the lakeshore where you are in constant view of the precipitous peaks surrounding the lake. The path winds in and out of spruce trees that blanket the entire west slope of the lake. It is not long before you come upon a small secondary campsite."
