This hike has something for nearly everyone. For the amateur botanist the orchids of Beaverdam will be reason enough to take this walk. For the history buff, it's a chance to walk a kilometer or two along the historic rail bed of the Canadian Northern Railway that alone made the coal mines at Nordegg a viable operation. By the “No Exit” sign there is a well-defined path on your right. The path leads up the slope past an old graveyard. Just past the cemetery are several foot-paths joining from the left. Stay on the main, broad path on the right as it climbs slowly through the spruce and poplar bush. The trail to your right leads to East Bush Falls.
