“Sewage lagoon” may evoke images and smells sooner forgotten, but these small ponds attract a variety of waterfowl such as mallards and blue-winged teals. A stroll past Nordegg's historic golf course and Long Lake, a favorite nesting and staging area for many species of waterfowl, leads to Shunda Creek and beyond. For young families for whom 5.6 km is too much for little legs, there is an old roadway at the 1.5-km mark that will loop you back to your vehicle.
