North Fork Trail Professional Review and Guide
"Since the second edition the southern half of this Ware Creek-Threepoint Creek connector has been completely rerouted away from the old telephone trail between Bighorn Ranger Station and North Fork Cabin, and now takes in some lovely meadow country en route to the pass. A big improvement! From campgrounds on Highway 549, it's possible to make a 18.5 km loop incorporating Threepoint Creek, North Fork, Ware Creek and 9999 trails, the loop best hiked in an anticlockwise direction so you can admire the views without turning around all the time. However, because of ease of access from Ware Creek parking lot and the fact that most people just enjoy a stroll up to the high point and back through the meadows, I am describing the trail from south to north."
