Gain Grass Pass via #260, then turn right (east) up a steeply climbing OHV road imprinted in grass. Keep straight. Before reaching the ridge top, a trail angles left and traverses to a saddle overlooking Fir Creek at GR719880. The trail continues through a band of pines, then climbs southwest slopes to the broad summit ridge at GR723886 from where there's a thrilling retrospective view of Mt. Head and Holy Cross Mountain rising above the dark valley of Wileman Creek. Continue over two minor tops to the high point at GR733887 where you can look down into Trap Creek and sort out its various options.
