The high predominantly grassy hill overlooking Highwood Junction to the north and called Junction Hill by rangers is mightily attractive to cattle, grizzlies and humans. While you can wander up the south slopes almost anywhere, the suggested route starts you off on a good trail that in itself makes a good half-day trip to a col. The rest is mainly route, a moderately steep pull up the south ridge to the summit, one of the Highwood's great viewpoints. With two vehicles, consider combining this route with #257.
