Johnson Creek Professional Review and Guide
"This is a complex route using trails, old roads, and a pipeline right-of-way through a beautiful pastoral valley. Walking from end to end seems a bit pointless when the highway is only a few minutes walk away at any given point, unless, of course, you want to emulate Frank DuRocher. Use sections for short strolls or with other trails to make loops, i.e. starting at access 2, head west up Johnson Creek, take #238 to Timber Creek Pass, climb over the ridges to The Hump, then return down Johnson Creek or the delectable ridge to the east. Also from access 2, head up Johnson Creek to Bear Pond (#241) and return down the north fork (#240). Or, casting an even larger circle, incorporate Hailstone Butte, Iron Creek and Willow Creek (or shortcut via Iron Lake to the north fork)."
