Boulder Pass is an 8.7 km-long trip. Used mainly by people going to Skoki, the route is also a scenic day hike. The first 3.9 km follows a service road, which may be hiked or cycled. Strong cyclists will save time, but most people will push their bikes up the steep road (300 m height gain), benefitting only on the way down. Because of the steepness of the road, bicycles can come down at dangerous speeds: be aware that hikers, other cyclists, horses, and motor vehicles all use the road. Although closed to private vehicles, Ski Louise, Skoki Lodge, Parks Canada, and Timberline Tours operate trucks on the road.
