Jewell Pass is located south of Lac des Arcs, along the Trans Canada highway, east of Canmore, Alberta. This intermediate point-to-point or out-and-back ride climbs from the Trans Canada Highway over a low, rideable pass and finishes at Barrier Dam Day Use Area at mile 10. It offers a combination of fire road and narrow technical riding. As the trail approaches the shores of Barrier Lake, you'll notice the emerald waters of this dammed reservoir sparkle in the afternoon sunlight.

We parked at the heart creek parking lot and did that trail to the Jewell pass trail, we went up this fairly uneventful dirt road for a short way till we came to the single track, we then did a left and continued up to the summit of mount Baldy then down the other side and rode along the shore of Barrier lake to the turn off for Skogan Pass then we rode up and over skogan and down to the highway and back to heart creek, a good ride with lots of sustained climbing and some screamin downhillin, long ride, about 4 hours of hamerin but a real gas, I'm gonna do it again this year.
