Three Isle Lake Professional Review and Guide
"This is an easy overnight or moderate day hike to a large subalpine lake tucked below the Continental Divide. Highlights include Upper Kananaskis Lake, Three Isle Lake, outstanding mountain scenery, and wildlife. For scenery and easy access to the backcountry, few trails match the route into Three Isle Lake near the western boundary of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. Hikers enjoy excellent views of Upper Kananaskis Lake and surrounding mountains in the early going, and the trail runs nearly level for much of the first 4.2 miles (7 km) of this 7.3-mile (12 km) hike. The final destination, a large subalpine lake cupped below the bulk of Mount Worthington, offers a pleasant backcountry campground and unrivaled opportunities for day hiking above timberline."
