Commonwealth Creek is the gateway to some superb alpine country that makes you yearn to carry on. With two vehicles you can do just that: continue over Birdwood Pass to Burstall Pass in one day. Whatever you decide, allow plenty of time for looking around. If using approach 1, biking to the end of logging roads is easy and saves time. Otherwise, I'd use the short approach.
