For some people, lakes near timberline are only a stepping stone to the alpine above, in this case Rummel Pass. Game trails are intermittent but the terrain is easy enough. If you've got two vehicles, and a willing party who can hack steep slopes and a little bushwhacking, I recommend carrying through to Lost Lake (#54) and out via Galatea Creek (#52) to Highway 40. Total kilometrage 17.3 km.
