French Creek Professional Review and Guide
"After years of trampling by provincial team skiers en route to the Haig Icefield (they now have to walk round the long way), the trail is a lot clearer and takes you to the base of the French Glacier. In summer, going further requires all the paraphernalia of glacier travel. Those innocent looking snowfields have snared quite a few people, including a ranger fortuitously accompanied by two search and rescue experts. Rather than freeze to death down a crevasse, I suggest spending more time enjoying the waterfalls."
--Gillean Daffern, Kananaskis Country Trail Guide: Volume 1 (Rocky Mountain Books).
I consider myself in pretty good shape, and I found this hike challenging but very, very enjoyable. I really felt like I accomplished something great, and the views are out of this world. I will never forget this hike.
