The trail parallels Highway 40 in Kananaskis Country Provincial Recreation Area. This is the premier family trail within Kananaskis Country. Its smooth pavement and gentle gradient brings out riders of all abilities- you don't even need a real mountain bike. It runs 7.11 one-way and will require a vehicle at both ends, or a return on the same trail. You can make an excellent loop with the Terrace Trail. The views toward Mount Kidd dominate the western skyline, and, to the north, Mount Lorette looms. The river passes all the major facilities along this stretch of highway, including the Mount Kidd RV Park, where a small store offers supplies, and even ice cream.
