Cataract Creek to Upper Falls Professional Review and Guide
"This trail is located at the southern extent of Highway 40 along the Forestry Trunk Road, within Kananaskis Country Provincial Recreation Area. This pleasant ride combines a beginner fire road with a little intermediate singletrack. It travels 2.2 miles one-way to a pleasant little waterfall along Cataract Creek. The total distance is 4.4 miles with a return to the campground.
The waterfall is small but pleasant. The water tumbles over two resistant layers of rock as it makes its way toward the Highwood River to the north. As you head out on the trail, Mount Burke to the west dominates the skyline. It was named after Denis Charles Burke, a Northwest Mounted Policeman from 1896-1901. He later ranched in this area and also spent time as a forest ranger."
