Saturday Night Loop Professional Review and Guide
"The trail is located west of Jasper in Jasper National Park. If you grind your teeth at night, dreaming of a ride designed to break you, this may be the ride for you. It is a 17.3-mile loop that passes numerous picturesque lakes. It is an expert-level ride with endless mud bogs and extensive root erosion. This trail is so bumpy it rattled my front forks loose. The trail climbs toward Pyramid Bench before heading west along the base of the Victoria Cross Range.
Each peak of this range is named after a winner of the empire's highest award for valor. Most of the lakes are pleasant, and their waters reflect the surrounding peaks. The ride begins innocently enough. The ride to Cabin Lake is pleasant, and, as far as the Saturday Night Lake junction, the trial is rideable. But beyond this junction, its true character shows. The trail becomes a mixture of sloppy, muddy stretches mixed with bad root erosion. Once the trail passes the junction to Minnow Lake, it becomes easily rideable again."
