Easy walking on excellent trail with an easy cross-country hike but potentially difficult ford. This remote corner of Jasper National Park sees few backcountry travelers despite the excellent condition of the trail and campgrounds. The GDT follows 22.8 km of the popular North Boundary trail (NBT) that spans 170 km across northern Jasper National Park. The view up Chown Creek and of splendorous Mount Bess must exert an irresistible draw on NBT hikers to leave the established path and to continue north on the Great Divide Trail.
