This popular trail follows a spectacular valley hemmed in by cliffs. All is easy to the 10 km mark, where cliff bands give rise to two spectacular waterfalls and cause difficulty and danger to the hiker bound for Ribbon Lake. If hauling yourself and a heavy pack up chains doesn't appeal, use alternative trails to get to Ribbon Lake: Guinn's Pass (#53) or Buller Pass (#70).
