The trail is located within Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, which is located within Kananaskis Country. This large recreation area lies approximately 1.5 hours south and west of Calgary, Alberta. This 11.8-mile loop provides everything from an incredible alpine panorama to tame paved meandering. It is an intermediate advanced ride due to its steep gradient and technical downhills. The trail surface varies widely along this route. To the lookout, it is wide doubletrack, but that quickly changes as you drop off the summit. Here, the condition varies from wide track to swamp. The ride also includes a rideable stream crossing, but it will leave your feet wet. To say the view is dramatic would be an understatement. From the lookout, at an altitude of almost, 7000 feet, you can see both the Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lakes spread out beneath your feet. Beyond the Upper Lake, Mount Lyautey stands defiantly. Between the two lakes, living up to its name, is Mount Indefatigable.
