This trail was in most ways exactly what we were looking for. We wanted an easy outing in the mountains for my mother, and our family including two small children (one 6 yr old and 1 2 yr old). Everyone walked the trail with ease, and directions from Trails.com were superb. The trail itself was great condition. Our reason for the 3 star rating, and any dissapointment is it seemed that some of the campers present were disrespectful of the environment they were in, littering in the forest along the path occasionally (beer cans etc). Our other (and most significant) let-down occured at the end point - the lookout. The scenery was beautiful, but not one of the picnic tables was useable. They were broken/vandalized in many cases, and in a state of such disrepair that it really felt as if the site had been forgotten by the authorities that overlook maintenance for the park. We were grateful for the outhouses at the lookout (even though they weren't in great shape either), but we basically took some photos, and postponed having a bite until we got out of the area.
