This trail begins in Banff National Park, along the Banff Springs Golf Course and finishes at the Canmore Nordic Center in the town of Canmore, Alberta. While the Goat Creek Trail provides an opportunity to ride the back side of Mount Rundle, the Rundle Riverside Trail takes the frontal approach. Beginning along the Golf Course Loop Road, this trail is a rough, rooty, roller-coaster ride for most of its length. Enjoyable for the first hour, the pleasure of this trail runs out as your kidneys take the constant onslaught of tree root after tree route. Despite its gruff nature, it does provide a highway-free loop option to the Goat Creek. Scenically, the trail follows the Bow River along the front side of Mount Rundle toward Canmore. The slopes of Rundle on this side are steep and sharp, quite a contrast to the smooth, angled slopes along its Goat Creek side.

This trail is a lot of fun. it is what I would call a high speed technical type of ride, altough it doesn't have anything I would call a hill, there are some up and down undulations but nothing sustained, it is still a good challenge to keep your speed up while negotiating all the roots, cool forest, nice trail conditions, and a no brainer route make it a good ride, very nice having a full susp bike though.
