Vigorous climb over a high pass with some routefinding necessary at the head of the Palliser River. Palliser Pass, the extreme southern boundary of Banff National Park, has few visitors and yet you will find some of the most beautiful lakes and alpine scenery of the park here. The trail up the Palliser River to the pass is narrow and rarely traveled, while north of the pass the Spray River valley has a flat bottom and is wide open.
