Grassi Lakes

Grassi Lakes Professional Review and Guide

"A moderately strenuous walk (height gain 300 m) to two exquisite blue lakes. Interpretive signs, splendid views of mountains and waterfalls, an interesting trail with benches at strategic points, makes this a most enjoyable trail to walk. Ignore the roads, penstock and powerlines. A more difficult option exists to view the petrographs."

"I was hoping to take in Whiteman's Pond, which would have made a much better loop, but TransAlta has surrounded the headgates with impenetrable chainlink fence requiring a Stalag 5 escape routine."

This hike is a steady 1.5km incline, but once you reach the top, it's well worth the effort. It's absolutely gorgeous, and the clearest water you will ever see. A must do!

Great Trail for all ages, two diffrent routes are available for both Advanced and Moderate Hikers. However the Moderate hike is much more scenic compared to the Advanced hike. The hike can be leasurly completed in less than 4 hours. If your into rock climbing, there are various different routes in and along the trail to ry out
