The best valley I know for producing sore feet! Winding deep into the heart of the Fairholme Range, spectacular, stony Cougar Creek offers everything from a half hour's stroll to a weekend's backpack. A trail gradually whittles down to nothing and while there's lots of stream hopping initially, you should be able to keep your feet dry later in the season. The main bed is usually dry past Canadian Forks and the problem then (for backpackers) is to find water without climbing high.
