The trail is located within the Elbow Valley, approximately 12.4 miles southwest of Bragg Creek on Highway 66. This 6.2-mile point-to-point or out-and-back trail follows the course of Prairie Creek to its junction with the Elbow River. It is often used in conjunction with Powderface Creek Trail to make a 13.2-mile loop. Riding east on this trail gives you excellent views of the foothills. So often trails are so mountain focused that riders rarely give the rolling foothills a second thought. Here, the mountains are at your back. The vegetation along this ride is a mixture of trembling aspen and lodge-pole pine. Keep your eyes open for some mule deer or elk, as this is ideal habitat for these common ungulates. From the top of the hill a quick, steep, technical downhill brings you to the junction of Elbow Falls Trail just slightly east of Powderface Day Use.
