Moose Mountain Fire Road Professional Review and Guide
"This trail lies west of Bragg Creek, Alberta. Moose Mountain Fire Road provides riders of beginner to expert ability an opportunity to ride the ridges while climbing toward Moose Mountain Fire Lookout. This out-and-back trail is composed of a 3.5-mile ride, followed by a .6-mile hike. The last stretch to the lookout is best done on foot. The total riding and hiking provides excellent access to the highest fire lookout in Alberta. From the summit, the views to the east stretch all the way to Calgary approximately 30 miles distant. to the west, the transition from foothills to mountain is clearly displayed in the panorama. This is one of the premier viewpoints in the valley, and it is one of only two mountain summits accessible by bike in the valley. Please respect the privacy of the lookout. It is not a public building and is also the lookout's home."

The Moose Packers Trail option is one of my favorite rides ever. A series of switchback and downhill that seem to go on forever. The best part is you can do the the long haul up to the top of the mountain on your bike or you can shuttle it with a friend and two vehicles. Look for trail descriptions in your Mountian Bike Guide Book.
This trail also connects to aa number of other trails. The most interesting is Moose Packer. This leads to a wild downhill series of switch backs that will then take you through alpine meadows. That will then lead you to Tom Snow and you can go on to the town of Bragg Creek. These are but a few of the trails accessible from the road around Moose Mtn.
This trail has been recently graded and has little snow cover. There are spots of ice and snow cover in the shaded parts of the trail. Spring conditions prevail with many people out for early training. Recent snow may render the trail less ridable in the near future.
